Hidden
Lake RV Ranch hosted a special duck hunt, just prior to opening the RV ranch to the public. The hunt took place from January
3rd- 5th and was filmed for TV viewing in March, April and June.
Professional hunting
guide/outfitter/ TV host, Colorado Buck attended the event; his show titled “Where in the World is Colorado Buck?”
is located on the Pursuit channel 608 on Direct TV. Terry Denmon of Louisiana, professional hunter / president and CEO of
Mojo Outdoors, host of Mojo Outdoor TV and co-host of Hunting Across America TV, participated at the event. Mike Morgan of
Mississippi, professional hunter, co-host and producer of Hunting Across America and manager of productions of Mojo Outdoors
was filming at the event. Also, Charles L. “Chuck” Smart, general manager of Mojo Outdoors was also on hand for
the special event.
Both Mojo Outdoors and Hunting Across America shows can also be located on channel 608 on
Direct TV.
Also participating in the hunt at the event was Annette Napier, Larry Rodgers, Cody Rodgers, Landon
Rodgers, Clint Rodgers and Toby Alsip. Kaden Brown (6 year old grandson of Larry & Vickie Rodgers) dressed up on his camo
and helped call in the ducks before the bitter cold set in! Vickie Rodgers and Colleen Rodgers provided meals during the 3
day event.
The crew stayed in their Hunting Across America/ Mojo Outdoors RV that was quite an eye
catcher. Colorado Buck and his camera man Larry Causey stayed in RV’s provided by Hidden Lake RV
Ranch.
All weather conditions possible occurred during the event, including sunshine and a record high temperature
of 84 degrees on Saturday. Sunday brought changes, more wind and falling temperatures into the mid 30’s.
Monday greeted the morning hunt with freezing temps, and freezing rain! This truly fits the old saying “If you don’t
like the weather in Texas just wait a minute”.
However, the over all hunt yielded many species of ducks and
was very successful. Mojo decoys were used to help lure the ducks in. According to the crew, the footage taken would make
good viewing later on in 2009!
All at Hidden Lake RV Ranch truly enjoyed hosting the event to such fine,
down to earth folks.
