Luxury Glamping: The Best Thing To Do in Texas Hill Country

Glamping is a combination of glamor and camping, emphasizing luxury and modern comforts. It’s a way of enjoying nature without sleeping on the ground. You don’t have to be miserable when camping. At Hidden Lake RV Park, we’ve noticed the rising glamping trend in Texas. Ever since we began researching glamping, we knew it was something we wanted at our beautiful park. And soon we’ll have two distinct glamping choices for guests. Yeah, we’re excited.

What is glamping?

Glamping has been around for hundreds of years. For historical examples of glamping, you can go way back to nomadic tribes in the steppes or royalty organizing lavish tent excursions. But in recent years, the modern concept and awareness of glamping has skyrocketed in popularity.

When you glamp on your own, you’re in charge. You decide your comfort level and pack everything you want. In contrast, many properties are adding glamping options because of its popularity. You’ll find everything from luxury yurts to small cabins to treehouses. There’s no limit to imagination with glamping. Plus, when you stay somewhere with glamping options, everything is already to go, just like a hotel room.

The Rise of Glamping in Texas

People want to spend time outside, enjoying the beauty and tranquility of nature, without giving up the comforts of home. In fact, there’s so much interest in glamping now that it has become its own travel category. A 2020 GlampingHub article mentioned a significant rise in glamping in Texas. Not surprising. The rugged and beautiful landscape of Texas makes some of the best glamping spots you can find, especially in the North Hill Country.

Introducing Hidden Lake RV Park

We may be biased, but remember that stunning Hill Country we mentioned? Well, that’s where you’ll find Hidden Lake RV Park, a secluded haven spread over seventy acres of wilderness. We’re primarily an RV park, but we are excited to say that soon, we will have two unique luxury glamping options for guests. Our visitors will have the choice between a covered wagon or a treehouse, which we’ll cover in more detail further on in the article.

No matter how you choose to stay with us, RV or glamping, Hidden Lake is the perfect setting for finding peace and tranquility, away from the bustle of life. So come unwind and, with a fair amount of land to explore, immerse yourself in nature. And don’t forget to make friends with George, our resident donkey. He loves to make new friends.

Why You Should Glamp in the North Texas Hill Country

Here’s why you should glamp with us in North Texas. Even though our covered wagon and treehouse glamping options are not yet ready, you can still glamp at Hidden Lake RV Park. Staying in an RV is a type of glamping, right? You’re just camping out on wheels. In a way, we have always embraced the mindset of glamping, namely enjoying nature in comfort.

As we’ve been saying, Texas Hill Country is one of the most beautiful areas in the state. And we’re not saying that because we live here; it’s the simple truth. When you stay with us at Hidden Lake, head out on a nature safari. Our seventy plus acres are home to all kinds of wildlife and abundant plant life. Several walking trails lead in and out of our park, all perfect for a leisurely sunset walk, exploring the countryside, or for getting much needed peace.

Our park also has a pond where guests can fish with no license required. We think Hidden Lake has enough outdoor activities to keep boredom at bay for our guests. Stunning views and plenty of things to do…yeah, we have a little piece of heaven here, and we love sharing it with others.

Covered Wagon Glamping at Hidden Lake RV Park

Did you ever read pioneer history in school and wonder what it would be like to stay in a covered wagon? If you have, you’re not alone. Well, pretty soon, Hidden Lake will have a glamping covered wagon where you can experience that bit of history. Don’t worry, it won’t be quite so rugged. Imagine staying in a covered wagon with a plush bed, heating, air conditioning, lighting, and tastefully decorated. It’s all about comfort, right? That’s what we provide.

To complete the glamping experience, you’ll need a campfire to sit beside at night. You can’t go camping without seeing the Texas sky at night. There’s no better place for stargazing. Picture yourself sitting next to a campfire and your luxury covered wagon, sharing stories and looking at the night sky. Yeah…we think it’s a pleasant picture too.

Treehouse Glamping at Hidden Lake RV Park

We hope this glamping choice will take you back to your childhood. We’re building a full-sized lavish treehouse. Who wouldn’t want to spend a night or two in a treehouse under a leafy canopy? We did our research, found inspiration from our own childhoods, and decided on a design to match the Hidden Lake setting. The space may be tiny, but it will be full of comfort.

If you ever watched old Tarzan episodes or the Swiss Family Robinson, we hope our efforts will capture some of that magic of living amongst the trees. It’s safe to say that with our glamping treehouse, you’ll have the best view around.

Experience Nature in Luxury

Hidden Lake RV Park is the best place to hang out in the wilderness of the North Texas Hill Country. Our guests love our small range of land, the fishing pond, the wildlife safari excursions, birdwatching, George the Donkey, and so much more. And with glamping continuing to rise as a popular trend, we embrace the mindset of camping in comfort, whether in an RV or a covered wagon. We want everyone to experience nature while enjoying the luxuries of home. So why not plan your next glamping RV trip to Hidden Lake?
